Imphal, October 09 2016:
MLA RK Anand has exuded confidence that all the Congress MLAs who are not inducted into the Council of Ministers would get Ministerial berths in the next term provided Congress party is able to retain power after the 11th Manipur Legislative Assembly election .
He was speaking at the inaugural function of a community hall, a Meira Paibi shed and a library building at Kwakeithel Awang Konjeng Leikai.
Anand went on to claim that he would get a Ministerial berth in case he is re-elected.
He said that it is the BJP-led NDA Government which has been challenging the territorial integrity of Manipur.
Pointing out that the details of the Framework Agreement signed between the Government of India and NSCN-IM have not been divulged till date, Anand said that he is afraid of the party which is anti-Manipur.
Turning to BJP Manipur Pradesh, Anand asked whether they have been conspiring to sell off or disintegrate Manipur.
He also appealed to all the people who have joined BJP to retract from their alleged wrong steps.
Some of the MLAs elected from Naoriya Pakhanglakpa AC held Ministerial portfolios and a politician belonging to the Assembly segment was even elected as an MP but what they did for development of Assembly segment was rather disappointing.
Anand went on to claim that Naoriya Pakhanglakpa AC underwent a lot changes only after he was elected to the Assembly.
Cong office opened : In connection with the forthcoming Manipur Legislative election, a new office of the Congress party was opened today at Keishamthong market by former Minister L Jayantakumar.
A number of youth who were admitted in Congress party anew were also distributed identity cards at the gathering.
Responding to some queries raised by mediapersons, Jayantakumar said that NCP MLA L Ibomcha seems to be desirous of joining Congress party as indicated by some section of the people.
However, Congress party has not so far given approval to the membership of L Ibomcha and it is unlikely in the near future.
As Ibomcha has no contribution to the Congress party, it would be hard for him to obtain party ticket for the State Assembly election, Jayantakumar added.
