Bishnupur, May 31 2017:
Ningthoukhong Municipal Council chairperson Kangabam Mani Singh has clarified that the news circulating in social media concerning the newly constructed temporary market over Ningthoukhong river are false and baseless.
Speaking to media persons at the Council's office, he said that the new market/ shed was constructed in the interest of the women vendors and the people.
Due to limited capacity of vendors (120), the council had to make immediate arrangements to accommodate extra vendors at the surrounding areas as well as the community hall and parks.
Stating that the rumour was designed to tarnish the image of the Council, the Chairperson has urged the individuals concerned to approach the Council office and share their discontent instead of spreading false rumours.
He further said that the newly constructed building is temporary and not permanent.
