CCpur, October 27 2017:
The district administration Churachandpur today dismantled the waiting shed that also housed the YMA office effectively axing the week long agitation spearheaded by the latter seeking reparation or an alternate arrangement .
The dismantling exercise which began early today was notified last evening by Deputy Commissioner Shyam Lal Poonia, with the SDO Churachandpur tasked to execute the order.
It also comes barely three days after the ADC had withdrawn the no objection certificate it had issued on 10-10-1993 to the YMA for utilisation of the waiting shed's first floor as its temporary office, and exactly a week after the first eviction notice was served to YMA by the CEO/ADC Churachandpur .
The order issued by the Deputy Commissioner also noted that the YMA Lamka Branch had asked for sanctioning suitable amount of compensation and has failed to vacate the building within the stipulated time .
A huge posse of police personnel armed with riot gears was deployed in and around the waiting shed to thwart any disturbances before heavy machineries pulled apart the structure that stands on the area where the planned Mothers' Market will be constructed.
It may be noted here that a two-storey marked shed that reportedly was declared unsafe even before the top floors have been occupied as well as several rows of tin-roofed structures have already been ripped to shreds for the new market to come up.
