Covid claims one more, 19 test positive

The State's Covid-19 death toll has touched 1990 following the death of an individual from Kakching district during the last 24 hours.
As per a report of the State Level Covid-19 Deaths Audit Committee, the latest victim was not vaccinated.
On the other hand, 19 samples were confirmed positive at RIMS (2) and other testing centres (17) out of 1,231 samples tested for Covid-19 during the last 24 hours which implies daily positivity rate of 1.5 per cent.
The newly infected persons belong to Imphal East (3), Imphal West (14), Kakching (1) and Ukhrul (1), informed a press release issued by Additional Director (Health) and Covid-19 Common Control Room spokesman Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang.
Ukhrul recorded the highest daily positivity rate of 4 per cent, followed by Imphal West 3.3 per cent and Kakching 2.9 per cent.
Meanwhile, 18 persons who were undergoing treatment for Covid-19 have been discharged following recovery from home isolation (3), RIMS (1), JNIMS (8) and CCCs (6).The cumulative number of Covid-19 positive cases in the State has reached 1,25,515 (general population 1,21,082 and Central security personnel 4,433) .
It includes 328 active cases (general population 323 and Central security personnel 5) and 1,23,197 recovered cases (general population 1,18,774 and Central security personnel 4,423) .
The recovery rate stands at 98.15 per cent.
A total of 238 D-type oxygen cylinders and 83 B-type oxygen cylinders were made available to different health facilities of the State yesterday.
The cumulative number of Covid vaccine doses administered in State has risen to 22,34,423 (first dose 13,01,536 and second dose 9,32,887).This figure is inclusive of 6028 doses administered yesterday.
Till December 11, 66.12 per cent of the State's total eligible population has been given the first dose of Covid vaccine while 47.39 per cent has received both the first and second doses.
