ECI seeks Election Day Information including snaps taken on voting day

The Election Commission of India (ECI) has reportedly directed the chief electoral Officer to furnish 'election day information' along with complete details, including voters' photos taken during the January 28 election and repoll conducted on February 4, within 4 pm tomorrow.
According to an informed source, the ECI's directive insisted that every particulars of the electors, especially photos of the voters taken with the ink marked finger prior to casting their vote, from each and every polling station be made available to the Commission within the stipulated time.
It is said that the ECI has also asked the CEO to not only provide details on the voters' photos but also to explain why photos, if any, of the electors had not been taken on the day of election/repolling.
The source confided that in order to meet the deadline, District Election Officer and Returning Officer concerned have started comparison/checking of photos taken at polling stations with those recorded/enlisted in the electoral rolls.
It is pertinent to mention that in case widespread anomaly is detected while cross-checking the details there is possibility of the ECI ordering repoll as the process being taken up is to effectively curb proxy-voting and other electoral malpractices.

The source further conveyed that the 'poll day information' will also encompass details with regard to strength of both central paramilitary deployed at each of polling stations on the day of election/repoll as well as on the usage of web-cast technology and video recording of the election process.
On the otherhand, official figure on the voter turn-out at 48/22 Makhel polling station has been put at 71.23 percent out of the total number of 1126 electors.
The seven polling stations of Tadubi assembly constituency in which repolling was conducted yesterday is said to have recorded voter tourn-out of 91.10 percent.
