Water project with loan from Japan on hold

Imphal, May 9:
The Okram Ibobi Singh government had sought funds from Japan Bank of International Cooperation to construct a water supply tunnel from Maphou dam to Imphal city for supplying drinking water to the greater Imphal area.
The plan was to construct a tunnel from Maphou dam, about 25km from Imphal city, and get the adequate supply of water to distribute it to greater Imphal areas.
