Unsung Warriors
Moirangthem Minakshi Devi *
Marching in front solemn troops of unsung warriors,
Convoies of valorous kind with fire in their eyes.
Swaying silvery swords, their might and glory moved,
To defend diadem of motherland "Kangleipak" from colonial clutch.
Fearless and bold, they bore bullets and blows,
Onward they sped the battle over burning ember field,
Flaming forehead like blazing dusk, rebel by heart who fear no shroud
Blood trickle of their ruptured veins, unbroken and vigilant.
The treacherous colonial tyranny set them a boundless dare.
Their loyalty they didn't compromise, that's a priceless truth,
Beheading the rifled muscats, corpses scattered as carcasses.
Pain and death was what they ultimately paid,
Seeking freedom till the end with inflicting pain
Got martyred for motherland, the unsung warriors.
Those divine faces we don't recall, gone to early demise,
Their spirit of patriotism and sacrifice never fade for honour and homage we pay,
I reminisce and salute all the Patriots on this Patriots Day.
