Under the Veil
Robert Renatus Sanabam *
Veil is a part of the Law
In the land of Iran;
The Queshm Airport issued
Three big veils
To my daughters;
Their mother was all right.
My youngest daughter not at all;
The clothe longer than her
Her freedom swallowed.
My mind was captured
The world came under the veil.
Veiled bodies moved
The face concealed
The eyes were free.
Where is physical freedom?
Under the veil or
In the nuclear cell?
Gone deeper and deeper
In my heart more;
Till merged into the sand.
