Two peddlers arrested with 300 kg of banned drugs

Assam Rifles personnel have caught two drug peddlers, including a Myanmarese national, and found 300 kg of Pseudoephedrine pills worth over Rs five crore from Moreh in Manipur's Chandel district bordering Myanmar.
Two peddlers, one of whom was a Myanmarese, were caught in connection with the drug haul. "The seizure of the huge consignment along the Indo-Myanmarese border helped us to bust the drug racket and understand the modus operandi adopted by the peddlers," the statement said, adding that the two, along with the drugs, have been handed over to Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) officials.
In the meantime, the first meeting of the core committee on formulation of the State Drug Policy was convened at the office Manipur social welfare department commissioner. The department appealed to all government and non-government offices to help the administration in fighting the drug menace.
