Twin strikes hit vehicular movement in Manipur

Normal ferrying of essential commodities along national highways in Manipur was Friday severely hit by economic blockade imposed by Kuki militant group coupled with total bandh in hill districts of Manipur called by United Naga Council (UNC). No untoward incident was reported on the first day of the hill district bandh, police report said.
Kuki People’s Liberation Front/Army (KPLF/A) has been imposing economic blockade on the national highways in Manipur with effect from the midnight of October 21. The strike will continue till October 31. At the same time, UNC also imposed 48-hour total bandh in all hill districts of Manipur with effect from October 22 midnight.
