Tri-National Motorcycle Rally
In a noble endeavour spreading the message of unity and heritage, Assam Rifles is conducting a motorcycle expedition traversing through vast unchartered territories of North Eastern states of India, parts of Bangladesh and Myanmar. Enthused with a spirit of adventure bikers of the Assam Rifles will be covering a grueling distance of 2150 km, riding on 14 Royal Enfield Motorcycles.
Assam Rifles, the oldest Paramilitary Force in India, undertook this challenging mission as part of the ‘Unity Day’ celebrations. The expedition was flagged off by the Honourable Governor of Meghalaya from Shillong on 30 October 2017. Through the course its journey the expedition has passed through large parts of North Eastern states and Bangladesh.
The team was warmly welcomed at Agartala by the CM of Tripura, Shri Manik Sarkar where he lauded the efforts of Assam Rifles in spreading the message of peace, unity and diversity.

The expedition finally entered Manipur via Moreh after riding through Chin state and Sagaing Region in Myanmar. The team was extended a grand welcome from the friendship bridge to Moreh helipad by the residents and troops of Assam rifles.
A cultural program was organised at the helipad in which large number of civil society members and local residents took part. The team will reach Imphal on 11 November 2017 accompanied by the local bikers from Imphal who will join them on this noble cause. The team will call on the Governor and brief her on their expedition.
The members of expedition will participate in a number of social causes meeting the widowa of martyrs , HIV infected destitute ladies and children from orphanages. Honourable Deputy CM of Manipur will flag off the expedition on its onwards journey towards Shillong via Kohima in Nagaland on 13 November 17.
