Three govt offices burnt down in Kangpokpi, Manipur
Assam Tribune | Imphal, Aug 4
Three government offices and two more four wheelers including a car, a maruti van and a pulsar motorcycle were set on fire on the fourth day of the week-long economic blockade on the two National Highways 39 and 53 that connects the State with the rest of the country.
Sadar Hills District-hood Demand Committee (SHDDC) which had been imposing the economic blockade on the highways from July 31 midnight demanding creation of Sadar Hills area under Senapati district into a full-fledged revenue district, has subsequently called indefinite bandh in Sadar Hills.
The offices burnt down by the suspected blockade supporters include offices of the Sub-Divisional Officer, Sarva Siksha Abhiyan and Public Health Engineering Department offices under Kangpokpi police station in Manipur’s Senapati district.
