Social scientist's tips to research scholars of Northeast
Seven Sisters Post | Anamika Talukdar, Guwahati (Jan 22):
Experts have asked young scholars of the northeastern region to prepare a ‘proper methodology’ before writing any research proposal. Such a tip is necessitated because earlier a few project proposals were rejected by funding agencies due to lack of methodology.
“It’s very sad to observe that research proposals from the region don’t look viable as the scholars lack in methodological skills. No doubt the young minds are extremely loaded with innovative ideas, but emphasis should be laid on creating more viable projects or else they fail to convince the funding agencies,” said former national fellow of Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), Professor Udayon Misra, while talking to Seven Sisters Post.
