Sanjay Hazarika’s ‘Strangers No More’ released

Governments will come and go but the Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) will stay, former National Security Adviser, MK Narayanan told Sanjoy Hazarika, recalls the author and human rights activist.
Hazarika throws some light on the thinking in the government about the controversial Act. He was part of the Jeevan Reddy Committee that went into the AFSPA. He said that initially barring him none of the four other members favoured repeal of the Act. But at the end he managed to convince the Committee that the draconian Act should go.
