The exact number of brow-antlered deer at Keibul Lamjao National Park in Bishnupur district would be known soon. Manipur forest officials and wildlife experts have begun the ground works to hold a fresh census of the rare breed of deer at the park next month.
Another set of officials, supported by local NGOs and bird watchers, would also conduct a headcount of migratory birds currently taking shelter at Loktak next week. Keibul Lamjao, the biggest floating park in the world, adjoins the lake
