Rehabilitation of Villagers affected by Cyclone Mora
Post the devastating ”Cyclone Mora” which wreaked havoc in the Khengjoi Sub Division of Chandel Dist during the first week of June, 4 Assam Regiment of 26 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) has provided relief to the ailing locals by undertaking small but meaningful rehabilitation work for the locals.
Being located in one of the remotest corners of the state, the region has some of the most erratic lines of communication which get disrupted in wake of landslides and flooding.
In such circumstance 4 Assam on the request of locals, helped in erecting an adhoc bridge on Tuivang Dung Nala which restored the connectivity of Khengjang village with the other villages of the region.
Unit also distr essential medicines and rations to the villagers who suffered heavy losses due to damage of their house and properties. Timely assistance provided to the locals has gone a long way in bringing back normalcy in their lives.
