Quota fall irks Manipur dealers

The Okram Ibobi Singh government’s new policy on kerosene distribution under the public distribution system has reduced the monthly allocation to below-poverty-line (BPL) card holders, angering kerosene dealers and consumers.
Under the new policy, the consumer affairs, food and public distribution department has reserved 396 kilolitre (kl) of kerosene for the government pool leading to a fall in quantity supplied to nine districts.
