Promote culture for identity : Rio

State chief minister Neiphiu Rio Monday said if Nagas kept on promoting culture and tradition, they could keep their unique identity “even if we do not get independent or sovereignty.” He was speaking at a function to celebrate Chakan Gaan-Ngai - a Rongmei Naga thanksgiving festival, Monday here at Tenyimi complex.
The chief minister said that even though there was no physical integration amongst the Nagas, they should start with emotional integration and move forward. Rio said through promotion of culture and identity, Nagas would be known by the people.
