Panel to look into projects in region

The Centre has set up a committee of secretaries to look into inadequate coordination of line ministries with DoNER and NEC and streamlining of major projects in the Northeast.
The move comes after a parliamentary panel’s report this year castigated the government for inadequate coordination between the line ministries (which set aside 10 per cent of their budget for the Northeast) and DoNER ministry and the North Eastern Council (NEC).
