Panel flays NE states for blaming Centre

The frequent practice of the State Governments of the North Eastern States of blaming the Centre and passing the buck whenever faced with bottlenecks, has come in for severe criticism, with a Parliamentary panel remarking that States cannot get away by pointing fingers at the Centre.
The onus of development in the North Eastern Region (NER) lies as much on the State Government as on the agencies of the Central Government, remarked the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Home Affairs in its report to the Parliament on Thursday.
