PM seeks Singapore's investment to develop NE

During a meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and visiting Singaporean president Tony Tan Keng Yam, Modi sought Singaporean expertise to set up a skill development centre in the insurgency-driven region along the lines of one being set up in New Delhi with help from the city state, two people familiar with the development said, requesting anonymity.
“It is rare for northeastern India to figure so prominently in foreign policy deliberations,” said one of the two people cited above.
