PCI team to visit Manipur
Seven Sisters Post | Imphal (Jan 2):
A three-member team of the Press Council of India (PCI) is expected to visit Manipur to take stock of the prevailing situation relating to working atmosphere of journalists.
PCI’s proposed visit to the state will be close on the heels of killing a freelance television cameraman, Thangjam Dwijamani alias Nanao (32) of Thangmeiband Sinam Leikai, while covering a protest incident on December 23 against the alleged molestation of renowned Manipur actress Momoko (20) allegedly by an NSCN (IM) cadre during a concert at Chandel on December 18. The PCI team will be headed by Kosuri Amarnathan, sources said.
