Not enough hours in a day: NE seeks separate time zone
Times of India | TNN | Jan 14, 2015, 06.00 AM IST
Participating in a discussion on the introduction of Local Standard Time (LST) for the northeast, various civil society organizations and intellectuals of the state supported the demand for two time zones in the country. The discussion was organized by Agartala Cycle Club (ACC) on Sunday evening.
..northeastern states begin work at least four hours after sunrise and stop working at least 15 minutes after sunset, whereas Delhi and Mumbai begin working within 2-3 hours of sunrise and end at least an hour before sunset. As a result, the northeast is losing about 2-3 hours of daylight every day.
