N-E route for Maoist arms, cautions BJP

The BJP’s national security cell today said sophisticated Chinese weapons smuggled into the country through the porous border with Myanmar in the Northeast are reaching Maoists operating in other parts of the country.
“Through the country’s border with Myanmar, huge consignments of arms and ammunition are being smuggled into states like Manipur, Nagaland, Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh not only for insurgent groups of the region but also for Maoists operating in other states such as Andhra Pradesh, Bihar and Jharkhand,” he said.
