North East govts sound cyclone alert

As part of precautionary measures in view of the cyclonic storm Mahasen which is expected to hit the North East states, an alert has been sounded in Manipur and Mizoram and its respective authorities have ordered schools to be closed down tomorrow.
Besides alerting district police and health authorities, Churachandpur district disaster management authority also advised the farmers to be cautious while venturing into their fields during the next 24 hours, said official Khaikhonpao Ngaite over phone. As per reports available here, Assam, Manipur, Mizoram, Meghalaya and Nagaland had been experiencing rain without strong wind since the past 24 hours. But there is no report of any unwanted incident in the region till the time of filing this report.
