North-east youths celebrate New Year in Mangalore

Youths from the seven sisters of India celebrated the New Year, bringing alive the north-east tradition in the city. Wearing traditional dresses of their respective state, students from north-eastern states, who are pursuing higher studies in different colleges in the city, celebrated the day in a homely way.
"I came from Manipur to Mangalore for education. I miss our parents and our friends, but this programme gave me a homely feeling,” Jacob said adding that the city is best compared to any other metropolitan cities when it comes to security.
