No major project for North East in the Rail Budget
Assam Tribune | Kalyan Barooah | New Delhi, Feb 26 –
No new major rail project has been proposed for the North East in the Rail Budget, though Railway Minister, Pawan Kumar Bansal has trained his focus on fast tracking pending ventures including the national projects.
Describing the Railway Budget as Congress Party’s election manifesto, Bijoya Chakravarty said that work on a number of projects in the North East is yet to start despite lapse of so many years. The Railway Minister has recycled old projects in the Budget, she said, adding that the demand for Shatabdi Express has yet again been ignored.
