Netaji's war speech to be played at INA complex for visitors
Times of India | TNN | Feb 19, 2013, 07.12 AM IST
As part of the ongoing development and beautification programme taken up at the Indian National Army (INA) martyrs' memorial complex at Moirang town in Bishnupur district, preparations are on to play Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose's recorded World War II speech and slogans.
The Azad Hind Fauj or INA flag was hoisted for the first time at Moirang on April 14, 1944 by Colonel Saukat Hayat Malik, commander of Bahadur Group, and the town was made the INA headquarters. From here, Japanese troops' commanders and their allies, including the INA, chalked out war strategies and operated to fight against the Allied Forces. Thousands of soldiers of the opposing forces were killed and many were maimed in many pitched battles across Manipur.
