The Central Government-run National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) scheme is helping to provide better healthcare for people living in far flung areas of Manipur.>br/> Wakha village, which is located in Imphal East District of Manipur, is reaping the benefits of the Centre's National Rural Health Mission.

" It's a very good initiative. Such schemes benefit us a lot as we get to learn so many things about medicines, nutrition and child care," added Usharani Sarangthem.
The NRHM was launched in the country in 2005 with a special focus to 18 high focus states, including Manipur.
