Nagas in Myanmar back FNR peace bid

TheNagasin Myanmar and the Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR) have decided to strengthen and take forward the ongoing process to bring together all warring Naga groups on the basis of their historical and political rights.
The decision was taken at a three-day meeting that attended by people and church leaders representing the common aspirations of the Nagas in Myanmar and FNR leaders. The primary agenda of the meeting was to build bridged between the two sides and "rise above the geographical barriers" towards realizing the Nagas' dream.
The FNR had initiated the reconciliation process between the warring Naga groups. As part of the bid, two factions of the NSCN and the underground Naga National Council (NNC) had signed the "Covenant of Naga Reconciliation" in Thailand in June 2009. The aim was to bring an end to factional killings among them.
