Nagaland Tribes Council (NTC) submits representation to CM on tribe recognition

Nagaland Tribes Council (NTC) submitted has submitted a representation to the state chief minister Neiphiu Rio through the CMO citing reasons against the inclusion of Rongmei as a recognized tribe of Nagaland and appointment of a committee by the government to study for inclusion of Mao as a recognized tribe in the state.
After examination it has been decided that 80% reservation applied only to the Nagas/tribes who were within the present jurisdiction of the state of Nagaland and the same provision did not apply to the Nagas such as Tangkhul, Mao, Zeliangrong living outside the present jurisdiction of the state.
