Naga Hoho blames AJYCP of diluting 'law and order problem'
Times of India | TNN | Sep 5, 2011, 11.01AM IST
Reacting to the Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuba Chatra Parishad's (AJYCP) blocking of the Assam-Nagaland road at Mariani area, the Naga Hoho (NH) said it was "unfortunate" that the AJYCP was diluting the law and order problem by bringing in the border dispute issue, which is a very sensitive matter for both the Assamese and the Nagas.
The AJYCP blocked the Assam-Nagaland road in reaction to the killing of one Habid Ali near Lakhuti on August 14 by his business accomplice, Soban Ali. The Parishad claims that Ali was murdered by Nagas.
Following the August 14 incident, peace between the two communities further deteriorated when some innocent Naga boys were manhandled by a mob from Assam who damaged some houses and vehicles belonging to Nagas.
