NSUI helpline to fight Capital shame
Times of India | Jul 1, 2011, 11.54pm IST
Students from the northeast getting assaulted in New Delhi is nothing new. Worse even is the fact that they rarely get help from any quarter. But if the National Students' Union of India (NSUI) has its way, life in the Capital may become a bit easier for these youngsters.
The NSUI's Assam unit has taken an initiative to open a 24-hour helpline for NE students in New Delhi to report any kind of misconduct faced by them. The students' union has already discussed the matter with Delhi Police. A team of the state's NSUI unit will submit its demand to Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit next week.
