NSCN leaders to meet Ravi
The Telegraph | Kohima, May 10:
The Centre's interlocutor for the talks with the NSCN (Isak-Muivah), R.N. Ravi, will brief the people about the status of the parleys in Khonoma on May 14. Ravi will address the general conference of the Naga Students' Federation in Khonoma, around 15km from here, and the birthplace of the Naga National Council (NNC).
Villagers denied NSCN (I-M) chief Thuingaleng Muivah entry into Khonoma in 2010 since they consider NNC as the only legitimate organisation to salvage Naga nationalism. The founder of NNC, A.Z. Phizo, hails from the village and his daughter Adinno Phizo is president of the council. The uncompromising attitude of the Khonoma residents is also because of the alleged assassination of some top NNC leaders by the NSCN (I-M).
