NSCN-KK salvo at NIA
The Telegraph | Dipankar Roy | Guwahati, June 8:
The Khole-Kitovi faction of the National Socialist Council of Nagaland (NSCN) has taken strong exception to the National Investigation Agency (NIA) naming two of its senior leaders as suspected conspirators in the June 4 ambush on army troops that left 18 soldiers dead in Chandel district of Manipur.
Zhimomi told The Telegraph today that both Mulatonu and Chakesang belonged to their group and had nothing to do with the NSCN (K). "Chakesang is our collective leadership's envoy to Delhi and is in constant touch with the ministry of home affairs regarding our issues. He is in Delhi even today," Zhimomi said. He said being a top investigation agency of the country, the NIA should have exercised caution and probed deeper before taking names.
