NPF upbeat over poll prospect in Manipur

In the backdrop of stiff opposition from the Okram Ibobi Singh’s government, the Naga People’s Front (NPF) embarking on a steadfast preparation for the upcoming elections in Manipur is upbeat with the prospect in the State assembly polls scheduled February next year.
On his visit to Tamenglong, NPF Ukhrul division general secretary Ngatangmi stated that “The presence of party’s high functionaries was exigent in the area for the poll preparation, and he (Lohe) has done the other needful as well.” He added, “Lohe has exuded confidence and optimistic of faring well in the upcoming elections in Manipur.”
The NPF, according to an insider source, is likely to field 11 candidates in the four Naga dominated hill districts. “The party expects to bag at least nine seats,” it said.
