NE sportspersons need guidance, say experts
Assam Tribune | Guwahati, March 3 ():

Speaking in a national level seminar on the topic ‘North East, A Goldmine of Indian Sports’, organised by Assam Sports Association (ASJA), at Landmark Hotels today, former international table tennis player Arunjyoti Baruah said, “People from this part of the country are natural athletes and they love sports from their hearts. But due to lack of proper infrastructure sometimes they cannot excel to international heights. “Producing players like Dr T Ao to MC Mary Kom, organisers and governments should adopt some physical fitness programmes so that youngsters, who excel at the junior level, do not wind up after reaching the senior grade.”
