NE poised for creative economy

India’s Northeast, West Bengal and Andaman & Nicobar Islands have essential elements of the creative economy including talented workforces, greater tolerance and growing technological infrastructure.
With high levels of populations within the region falling into the creative class category as compared to the national average and with considerable investments in education, the report said the region was positioning themselves to benefit from growth in the less-labour intensive knowledge economy. “The future for the Far East region appears to be optimistic”, said the report.
