'NE market potential gateway to East and Southeast Asia'

The Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC), North East Initiative, Guwahati, and Institute of Peace and Conflict Studies (IPCS), New Delhi, co-organized an interactive session on Enhancing Business Linkages with Southeast Asia and China at Hotel Nakshatra on July 4, 10:00 am
The note also stated that Romeshwar Singh, OSD Trade & Commerce, Govt. of Mizoram and project Advisor said that a GIS Master-plan needs to be penned down in order to implement proposals in relation to developing trade linkages with SE Asian Countries. Also, Dr.Suba Chandran, Director IPCS, mentioned that in order to link NE Region with SE Asia inputs on connectivity situation from various corners needs to be clubbed together
Of some of the most potential and important commodities (export/import), Kamesh Salam, Former President, World Bamboo Organization highlighting on the importance and benefits of bamboo mentioned that Bamboo is a green linkage between NE Region and SE Asia. In spite of its great potential not much attention / thought is given to it. He specified that though known as the Poor Men’s timber bamboos can help in integrating rural population with the modern industrial development
