NABARD holds meet in North East to provide awareness among farmer

In an endeavor to boost agriculture by raising awareness among farmers about newer technologies and better loan facilities, a one-day meeting of the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) was recently held here.
The participating farmers were briefed on the advantages they can avail from the banks like the Kisan credit card scheme, taking up loans for buying seeds, developing irrigation facilities and buying tractors.
"I hope the NABARD can talk, as they are the head now in Manipur. They can influence the policy maker, state as well as bankers then I hope more positive result will come up here through this meet of today," Lily Rose Jajo, coordinator, NGO.The central government aims to increase the agricultural output from the northeast and is taking a number of steps in this direction.
