My Love
Ronald Keisham *
It is not the beauty I seek;
Nor the snow white looks;
Or mermaid's blonde of pride;
They are just the mere shells of hide!
Give me instead a tender heart;
Or a loyal peace of mind;
With which temptation I would thrust;
Yet never linked with errors find!
Plump rosy cheeks, adorable coral lips;
Or those starry, sparkling eyes;
Time does makes these fades away;
So the fame must waste away!
Though shall not a smooth warm heart;
Or a gentle thought's calm nature;
And hearts with equal love combined;
Shall kindle a never dying fire of love!
