Militants' presence complicating border dispute
Assam Tribune | R Dutta choudhury | Guwahati, June 11
Sources said that in the recent clash in the Naginijan area, the involvement of militants belonging to the NSCN (I-M) was confirmed and according to information gathered by the security agencies, a group of around 20 members of the militant group was camping in the area for some time.
The miscreants first opened fire from Nagaland with shot guns, in which one farmer was killed. As the NSCN (I-M) is under cease-fire agreement with the Government of India, the matter was taken up with the Centre by the Assam Government and the militants later retreated back from that area.
