Meaning of Life
Irom Calvin *
Life has no definition
It is never the same,
How it is different,
Makes it unique,
For every living soul,
Renew us, even if we do not reach it,
Into something else, which we hardly sensed,
We already are; a gesture waves upon us.
My eyes already touch the sunny hills.
going far ahead of the road I have begun.
So, we are grasped by what we cannot grasp;
It has a inner light, even from distance.
The reason we are here today,
Is to dance with truth, joy and beauty,
To smile and to grow on with our lives
And make friends as pleasure not as a duty.
People I loved,
Have come and gone,
But the world never stopped,
And we all carried on.
I stood on my own,
And still found my own way,
Through some nights filled with tears,
Hoping for the dawn of a new beginning.
Memories are life’s special moments
Borrowed from the passing of time.
Ghosts and shadows from bygone days,
Etched and stored inside our mind.
To learn while still a child
What this life is meant to be.
To know it goes beyond myself,
It's so much more than me.
