Cultural troupe presenting folk dance at ‘Saleni’ festival
On the occasion of ‘Saleni’, the festival of Mao tribe, Pfosemai and Viswema village on Friday reaffirmed their 2001 peace treaty. In an emailed release issued by NPCC, representatives from various organizations from Viswema village attended the festival to reaffirm treaty between the two villages. Besides, representatives from village councils, student unions, youth organizations and various organizations from the neighbouring villages from Nagaland and Manipur were also invited to the festival.
King of Mao tribe Pf. Kaikho invoked the traditional blessings to the two villages and the people who came to celebrate the festival.
Chief guest of the festival celebration Congress MLA and former President of Pradesh Congress Committee, KV Pusa in his speech said Naga society underwent two major cultural shifts in the coming of western political governance and the Christian religion.
