Manipur to set up handloom & handicraft Park

Manipur Commerce and Industries Minister, Y. Erabot recently stated that, with a view to develop handloom and handicrafts, the State Government and the Commerce and Industry Department are planning to establish a textile park at Loitangkhunou.
Directorate of Commerce & Industries (DIC), Manipur organized a function to disburse cheques to the Handloom Cluster under the Integrated Handloom Development Scheme.
The scheme, T. Rajen Singh said has four main constituents – the Cluster Approach, Group Approach, Marketing Incentive to societies and Strengthening State Level Handloom Organizations.
The Handloom Cluster Project is one of these components
