Manipur to implement special scheme for surrendered militants

Manipur government has agreed to initiate peace talk with Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup (KYKL) ‘in principle’ after the group approached the government for joining the mainstream besides agreeing to the implementation of a special scheme for surrender cum rehabilitation of militants.
A proposal of the state home department regarding signing of a peace trust with a faction of the KYKL also approved to the implementation of a special scheme for surrender cum rehabilitation of militants in Manipur which the centre gave its acceptance sometime back.
