Manipur plans fourth all-women market

Manipur government is planning to construct one more all-women market near the old Assembly complex here and has submitted a detailed project report to the Centre for its approval.
The three existing all-women markets were established much before British imperialists set foot in Manipur — at a time when the state was a thriving kingdom. The old structures were replaced with new ones in November 2010 when UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi inaugurated these.
