Manipur facing scarcity of essential items

The Indian Oil Corporation sources here said the State has a stock of 634 kilolitres of petrol, 2771 kilolitres of diesel and 167 kilolitres of cooking gas while the daily requirement is 90 kilolitres of petrol, 220 kilolitres of diesel and 80 kilolitres of cooking gas. There is around 1,750 kilolitres of kerosene, while the daily requirement is 100 kilolitres.
The State Government has started rationing fuel in selected oil pumps in Imphal in view of the artificial scarcity of petrol and diesel. Four and two wheeler vehicles are being provided 14 litres and four litres of fuel respectively.
