South Point School of Science overcame CT High School by 4-3 goals during tiebreak in the Imphal West District Inter-School Subroto Mukherjee Football Tournament at Khuman Lampak Sports Complex today.
In the under-14 category, Nilamani English School trounced Standard Robarth Higher Secondary School by nine goals to claim a spot in the final round. L. Rocky and Ng. Kenedy struck two goals each while Sh. Ronald, H. Premchandra, N. Chingkhei, N. Bideshor and Sivasa chipped in with a goal each.
Memorial chess
Defending champion Rk. Apollosana Singh emerged the lone leader after the fourth round, collecting four points in the 21st Kh. Anou Singh Memorial State Open Chess Championship at Kwakeithel in Imphal West.
Players who are currently with three points include Bankim Singh, N. Gautam, I. Sanajaoba, O. Binoy, N. Rajeshwar, Pholen Meitei, Anand Sharma, Dangmei Bosco, P. Boicha and Th. Nabachandra Singh.
