Manipur-Nagaland assure to maintain peace along border
Nagaland Post | Imphal, March 29:
Following tension along Phek and Jessami (Manipur) border area, officials from Nagaland and Manipur on Saturday agreed in principle to assure that the villages maintain cease-fire to avoid untoward incidents.
With the objective of maintaining peace in the disputed border areas, district level officers of Manipur’s Ukhrul and Nagaland’s Phek district met at Jessami of Manipur on Saturday. After a thorough deliberation on the existing situation arising out of land dispute between Shora Phung and Kerjang at inter-state border, the meeting verbally agreed to cease exchange of gun firings between the villagers.
